While every child develops at their own pace, PUBERTEA is generally designed as a resource for caregivers and girls between the ages of 7-13 who are, or are about to experience the physical, emotional, and developmental changes that come with puberty.

Puberty does not happen overnight. It unfolds gradually over time.

Just as the moon moves through different phases, girls move through different stages of growth and development. We use moon phases as a simple, visual way to help families better understand the journey of puberty while fostering a deeper connection to nature and natural rhythms. Girls will continue to learn how the moon phases are useful in interpreting their monthly rhythm once menarche begins.

Every girl develops differently, so there is no exact age that corresponds to each phase.
